Australia's Northern Territory
Promoting Kakadu Bird Week to British Wildlife Watchers
The Challenge
Kakadu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Australia, is renowned for its biodiversity and is home to over 280 bird species. Kakadu Bird Week is an annual celebration, bringing together bird enthusiasts, conservationists, and Indigenous communities to appreciate the parkโs avian diversity and address the challenges facing these species. During summer 2024, B&G was asked to help promote Kakadu Bird Week to our audiences of British bird and wildlife watchers.ย
โWe absolutely loved the feature that B&G put together on Bird-Watchers.com for our client - Amazing work!โ ๐๏ธ
Joanna Cooke, UK PR Representative for Australia's Northern Territory
The Goal
The goal of promoting Kakadu Bird Week via an organic feature on Bird-Watchers.com was to:ย
Increase Awareness
Engage the Birdwatching Community
Promote Conservation Efforts
Boost Ecotourism Consideration
Incorporate Indigenous Knowledge
The Solution
With the help of Departure PR, we planned a '5 Reasons to Visit Kakadu National Park' feature on Bird-Watchers.com that would incorporate all the elements required for achieving success. Ultimately, the feature would serve as a powerful platform to inspire action, celebrate biodiversity, and position Kakadu Bird Week as a must-experience event for bird enthusiasts and conservation supporters living in the UK.
The Results
Our feature was a hit with the birdwatching community! It brought attention and informative coverage to an event that usually goes unnoticed by British birdwatchers. Here are the results:
โ
Reached over 30,000 British Birders ๐คฉย
Delivered more than 5,000 feature reads ๐
Provided warm and hot ๐ฅ traffic to Australia's Northern Territory UK website ๐
